Rules are meant to be broken and even the Queen of England knows that. When you’re the Queen, you have to follow thousands of rules, and some are just so old they don’t really apply anymore. So over the years, the Queen actually broke her own royal protocol. Sometimes it was just because she felt like it, but other times, it actually made the royal lives better. One of the most prominent rule breaks comes from the Succession to the Crown Act 2013, which removed the male bias of ruling the throne. It allowed for the eldest child, regardless of the gender, to be in a significant spot to the line to the succession. Other rule breaks were much smaller, but remained quite significant.
